With a huge prize purse on offer of a total of €1,461,915, this year’s Hero Indian Open is going to be worth winning, and as is always the case with these European golf tournaments, there are plenty of golfers taking part in them, all of whom have their eyes of a share of that prize purse.
This year the event is being held at the DLF Golf & Country Club and it is of course the Gary Player Course that will be hosting the event, from March the 8th right through to March the 12th 2018.
The Hero Indian Open is one of the golf tournaments that does get a lot of interest from fans of the sport, but also does get a lot of attention from sports bettors too, for with so many golfers taking part in it, there is plenty of value to be had.
The most popular type of bet you can play on this year’s Hero Indian Open is an outright winner bet, and to help you decide just which golfer may be worth betting on if you do fancy placing a bet on this tournament, below are some of the golfers who may just take home the trophy.
However, also keep in mind that most betting sites will offer you one fifth the odds on the top six finishers in the tournament on the place part of an each way bet, so if your chosen golfer does have rather high odd associated with him then consider placing an each way bet for added value, at any betting site offering 6 places and a fifth of the win odds.
Favourites to Win the Hero Indian Open
It is very fair and true to say that this years Hero Indian Open is a very open event! For regarding who the smart money is going on in the better markets there is currently no red-hot favourite, but some of the golfers are listed higher up on the betting markets and have shorter odds than most others.
Both Anirban Lahiri and Shubhankar Sharma lead those betting markets for both currently have odds attached and associated with them both of 12/1, so regarding the favourites to win this gold tournament, those are the two players that are currently the joint favourites to win it.
You may fancy the chances of Emiliano Grillo and Joost Luiten if you do then it will be worth placing a bet on either of those two golfers for they are both on offer at odds of 14/1, and if either of them do play to their very best form during the tournament then their respective odds will of course start to drop.
A few other golfers that have more than a reasonable chance of getting placed this year in this golfing tournament or could possible win are S.S.P. Chawrasia and Chris Wood at 22/1, Andrew Johnston at 25/1 and even Scott Jamieson and Pablo Larrazabal both of whom are on offer at odds of 28/1.
Five golfers who I do know many fans of the sport do admire and golfers that also have a realistic chance of winning or at the very least getting placed in this golf tournament are Jeunghun Wang, Paul Peterson, Marcus Kinhult, Julian Suri and also Sean Crocker.
Outsiders to Win the Hero Indian Open Tournament
With so many golfers scheduled to take their turn on the golf course, it may be beneficial for you to look at some of the outsiders to win or get placed in this event, for there is some excellent value available if you do so.
Take for example Arjun Atwal, Chris Hanson, Nacho Elvira, Sebastien Gros, Jazz Janewattananond, Prayad Marksaeng, Robert Rock, Edoardo Molinari, Ricardo Gouveia and Adilson Da Silva, any of them could win or at least get placed and all those golfers are available on the early betting markets at odds of 100 to 1!
If you are attracted to the odds rather than the golfer which is often a good betting strategy in golf tournaments such as this one, then I would urge you to also consider having a few speculative bets on golfers such as Lionel Weber, Nicholas Fung , Sam Walker, Arnond Vongvanij and Ben Leong for each of them are currently available with enormous odds of 300/1 on them.
Plus, there are plenty of other golfers with even higher odds attached to them, so the value really is there for the taking if you place your bet early and ideally today!
