The Valspar Championship leg of the PGA Tour is of course underway, and that golf tournament started yesterday and will be ending on March the 11th 2018.
If there is one thing that does stand out about the Valspar Championship it is the prize purse, for there is a cool $6,500,000 up for grabs, and with plenty of golfers taking part in it this year, there are more than enough betting opportunities, if you are thinking of placing a bet.
Currently it is C Conners who tops the leader board at this early stage of the tournament and with W Kim, K Kraft and N Watney all in joint second place and K Bradley sitting in fifth place, you may have your eyes on one of them to retain their current form and win.
If you are wondering just which golf course this year’s Valspar Championship is being held at it is the Copperhead Course at Innsbruck, and if you are unfamiliar with that golf course then you do need to be aware it is a very challenging one, as this years line up of golfers are finding out!
What I will now do is take a look at two of the different betting markets that you will come across on this golf tournament, the first one I will take a look at is the outright winner betting markets but also take a look at what odds are on offer on the top 5 betting market that being the one on which you can place a bet on any golfer finishing in the top five positions of this tournament.
Who Will Win the Valspar Championship?
It is of course anyone’s guess who will win the Valspar Championship this year, however it is always going to be the outright betting market that will give you a very clear insight into just where the largest volumes of money are being placed and on which golfer.
The favourite to win, but only by a small margin it does have to be said is Sergio Garcia who currently tops all the betting markets at odds of 11/1, keep in mind though that during today and the rest of this tournament those and the following odds are going to change as the results come in.
The second favourite to win currently is Justin Rose and I do have to say that his odds do seem quite generous at the minute those being 12/1, and as such fi you do fancy having a bet on him then the sooner you do so the better as his odds will drop if he continues to play up to his best form.
A few other golfers that you may be considering placing a bet on and a few golfers you will already be familiar with no doubt include Paul Casey whose odds are currently 14/1, Tiger Woods whose odds are quite high it does have to be said at 14/1 and Adam Scott at 20/1 and Nick Watney at 22/1.
Top Five Finishers Betting Market
There are of course plenty of other bets and wagers that you can place on this golf tournament, but one betting market that you need to get involved in right now if you do want to secure some of the best possible odds on it is the top 5 finishers betting market.
That betting market does appeal to a large number of sports bettors for instead of you having to pick the winner of this event outright, you can pick any of the golfers taking part in it and if they do finish in one of the top five positions on the leader board at the end of the tournament you will receive a winning pay-out.
With that in mind let me now give you a quick run through of the golfers that may just finish in any the top five positions, these are the golfers that do have a rock solid chance of finishing in one of those potions, but keep in mind this is not a certainty as there could be a few surprises ahead in this tournament!
Sergio Garcia is possibly one of the golfers that does have the best chance of finishing in the top five, and if you get your bet on quickly you are going to be able to secure odds of 5/2 on him doing so.
The other most likely golfers to finish in one of the top five positions include Justin Rose at 11/4, Paul Casey at 3/1, Tiger Woods at 100/30, Adam Scott at 4/1 and Nick Watney whose odds are currently 5/1.
